FSSC 22000

FSSC 22000 is a Food Safety Management Certification Scheme, managed by Foundation FSSC 22000 and governed by an independent Board of Stakeholders which consists of representatives from several sectors in the food industry. FSSC 22000 is used to control food safety risks.

ISO-22000

ISO 22000

ISO 22000 sets out the requirements for a food safety management system and can be certified to it. It maps out what an organization needs to do to demonstrate its ability to control food safety hazards in order to ensure that food is safe.

Organic EU

EU definition of organic farming: organic production means a sustainable agricultural system respecting the environment and animal welfare, but also includes all other stages of the food supply chain.

Organic USDA-NOP

The National Organic Program (NOP) is the federal regulatory framework in the United States of America governing organic food. It is also the name of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) program responsible for administering and enforcing the regulatory framework. The core mission of the NOP is to protect the integrity of the USDA organic seal. The seal is used for products adhering to USDA standards that contain at least 95% organic ingredients.

JAS (Japanese Agricultural Standards) are the Japanese national standards in the field of agricultural, forestry, fisheries and food industry. JAS is established by the Minister of agriculture, Forestry and fisheries.

FAIRTRADE

Fairtrade is a system of certification that aims to ensure a set of standards are met in the production and supply of a product or ingredient. For farmers and workers, Fairtrade means workers’ rights, safer working conditions and fairer pay. For shoppers it means high quality, ethically produced products.

ECOCERT

EcoCert is an organic certfication and inspection body established in France in 1991. With activity in over 80 countries it has become one of the largest organic certification organizations in the world and one of the best known labels in the field of standardization regarding natural cosmetics. The ‘Natural and organic cosmetic label’ has a minimum of 95% of all plant-based ingredients in the formula and a minimum of 10% of all ingredients by weight must come from organic farming. To ensure an environmentally friendly cosmetic product, the Ecocert standard lays down that the ingredients are derived from renewable resources and manufactured by using environmentally friendly processes.

BIOSUISSE

Bio Suisse certification a valid organic certification equivalent to the Swiss Ordinance on Organic Farming (for example, Council Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007 or NOP) is the basis for a certification according to Bio Suisse standards abroad. In general, a buyer/importer of the products in Switzerland must be named.

Naturland

Naturland is the association for Organic Agriculture was founded in 1982 with its headquarters in Germany. Today Naturland is one of the world’s foremost organizations in the promotion of organic agriculture. In the many years since its establishment, Naturland has made a significant imprint on the history of organic agriculture and provided important impetus, opening up new fields such as organic forestry management and organic aquaculture.

Kosher

Kosher certification is a process by which a company ensures that their food is kosher, or in other words, fit for consumption by observant Jews. Kosher refers to a religious dietary practice that is rooted in Jewish tradition. Kosher Certification is the stamp of kosher approval by a rabbinic Agency verifying they have checked the products ingredients, production facility and actual production to ensure all ingredients, derivatives, tools and machinery have no trace of non-kosher substances.
